What makes it different

Built for how you actually study

Not a quiz app. Not a flashcard deck. Features you won't find bundled together anywhere else.

Block Creation

Filter to exactly what you need to work on

Build a question block filtered by subject, organ system, difficulty level, and question status — unused, previously correct, or previously incorrect. Set the block size and see exactly how many questions match before starting.

Jump directly to any question by QID, resume an incomplete block mid-session, or revisit any completed test from history.

Cross-Bank Reference

See how other banks test the same concept

After each question, StepwiseMed automatically surfaces a related question from a different bank — same concept, different angle. You see how UWorld phrases something vs AMBOSS vs Mehlman vs NBME vs UWSA.

This isn't a feature you'll find in any single question bank. It's the thing that turns rote memorization into actual pattern recognition.

Cross-Bank Reference — Step 2 CK
Step 2 CK · Pulmonology · QID 3841
A 67-year-old smoker presents with progressive dyspnea and a barrel-chest appearance. FEV₁/FVC ratio is 0.62. What is the most appropriate initial management?
AMBOSS Cross-Bank Reference High relevance
Same concept: COPD management — different clinical presentation
A 71-year-old man with a 50 pack-year history has worsening exertional breathlessness. Spirometry shows a non-reversible obstructive pattern. DLCO is reduced. Which intervention has the greatest proven survival benefit?
A. Long-acting beta-agonist (LABA)
B. Inhaled glucocorticoid + LABA
C. Supplemental oxygen (proven survival benefit in hypoxic COPD)
D. Roflumilast

Performance Dashboard

Track accuracy across every subject and every bank

Your dashboard breaks down accuracy per subject across all your sessions. Switch between Step 1, Step 2 CK, AMBOSS, Mehlman, NBME, and UWSA with one click — your stats are tracked independently per bank.

Every test is logged. Review any block, identify if renal is still your weak spot three weeks later, and actually measure whether your targeted drilling is working.

Why does loop diuretics cause hypokalemia?
Loop diuretics (e.g. furosemide) block the Na⁺/K⁺/2Cl⁻ transporter in the thick ascending limb. Increased Na⁺ delivery to the collecting duct stimulates aldosterone-driven K⁺ secretion, leading to urinary K⁺ wasting and hypokalemia.
